The Minister of Education officially announced the official decisions that were taken for the millions of students in all Romanian schools by the authorities, and we are talking about decisions that will have a very big impact during the year 2023, and this is because we are talking about the budget that is allocated to the ministry.

The Minister of Education explains below part of the budget allocations that are made for the ministry during 2023, and how part of this money should be spent, the goal being that students can benefit from the best possible educational process, of course in the limit of existing budgetary resources.

"The budget for education provided for the year 2023 is 49.509 million lei, respectively 3,2% of the GDP. Under these conditions, the education budget for the year 2023, on all funding sources, is higher by 6.032 million lei compared to the preliminary execution for the year 2022. Thus, in the year 2023, education expenses will have a weight of 8,14% in the Consolidated General Budget (increasing compared to 2022), the share reported to GDP also increasing: 3,2%, compared to the preliminary execution of 3,12%.

Education is financed from several sources, respectively: I. The state budget: 34.098 million lei (of which the amount of 32.529,5 million lei is included in the budget of the Ministry of Education). The other amounts are included in the budgets of other ministries that carry out educational actions. From the amounts provided in the budget of the Ministry of Education, the following are ensured.

Personnel expenses: 23.000 million lei, for the payment of salaries of personnel from pre-university education and other institutions; Goods and services: 95,4 million lei, for the operation of subordinate units; Transfers between public administration units: 5.948,8 million lei, for financing higher education institutions and other units. Social assistance: 427 million lei, sums of which ensure the transportation of pupils and students, textbooks, school competitions and other social actions.

Projects with European funding: 750 million lei; Student scholarships, high school scholarships, professional scholarships and other actions: 1.187 million lei; PNRR: 758,5 ​​million lei; Expenditures related to programs with reimbursable financing: 160 million lei. Capital expenditure: 200,2 million lei; Other transfers: 2,6 million lei. II. The state budget - sums broken down from VAT, through local budgets, respectively 5.850,4 million lei, of which: 2.101,7 million lei: goods and services; 1.605,3 million lei: student scholarships (social, merit and performance scholarships).

500 million lei free local transport for students; 262,2 million lei: the pilot program of food support ("hot meal") in the 450 educational units included; 370,2 million lei: Program for schools (milk, corn, fruit); 523,1 million lei: private education; 419,8 million lei: rights of children with special educational requirements from state education; 68,1 million lei: educational incentive for kindergarten children."
