The Minister of Health also talks about the fact that in Romanian pharmacies there are alternatives for drugs such as Nurofen and Panadol, including for adults, so that Romanians can buy their treatments, finally saying that the rejection of the medical project in Sibiu with funding from PNRR has been decided by the Government.
"It is true, there are people who do not find their full capacity for work, for a normal life, pulmonary fibrosis, microthrombosis that affects various tissues and organs occurs after this infection, and we have already generated at the level of the ministry a program that allows in the new contract framework of the National Health Insurance House, the recovery of these patients.
There is also an increase in consumption by about 50% this year compared to the previous year, it is also normal because there are many more viruses. It is a crisis that generally affects the European Union, but we have done something that I would like the population to know as well as possible, there are products with the same substances for children, many products that contain ibuprofen or paracetamol.
It is not just about Panadol and Nurofen, the most popular products, if you will. There are at least 10 products of each available for children, and people have to request those products from pharmacies. There is paracetamol in pharmacies, and there are many forms that can be administered to children, there is no syrup, for example, but there are suppositories.
There is always an alternative that you can find to treat your child. We don't necessarily have to take a certain commercial product, Panadol is not manufactured by us, and the manufacturer has notified us that it has production problems in the following months. There are also alternatives for adults, and last night I went to a pharmacy near my house, and they had almost all forms of ibuprofen or paracetamol for adults and children.
It is a decision of the Government of Romania, which established through the PNRR a certain limit that can be financed from the PNRR, 200 million euros, and there were three cities, not only Sibiu, but also Focsani and Brasov, which had projects much higher, around 300 million euros only from PNRR, and this was established by the Government, not by the ministry, and the rationale is that the total amount is limited."
