The Minister of Education officially informs the students from all over Romania about the last-minute decisions that were taken by the Government of Romania, and that will have an impact on all the schools in our country, and this is because we are talking about measures that are related with the 2023-2024 school year.
The Minister of Education talks below about the calendar of national exams and evaluations that will take place in Romania, and this is because they matter for a very large number of students who will make the transition from school to high school or college this year.
"The calendar of national exams/assessments, of graduation exams, respectively of certification/attestation of professional qualification/competencies, as well as the calendar of admission to the 9th grade are approved by separate orders of the Minister of Education.
In special, well-founded situations, depending on the special local climatic conditions and the specifics of the school, the school inspectorates can approve, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, at the request of the management of the educational units, changes to the structure of the school year established by this order. For pre-university military education units in the defense system, public order and national security.
Depending on the specifics of the school and the specifics of the specialization/army, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Administration and the Interior, the Ministry of Justice and other institutions with powers in the fields of defense, public order and national security can approve, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, at the request of the management of the units of education, changes to the structure of the school year established by this order.
The request to change the structure of the school year for the situations mentioned in paragraph (1) is made after consulting the representative council of parents in the respective educational unit(s). Approval of the change in the structure of the school year, mentioned in para. (1) and paragraph (2), is granted under the conditions of ensuring the full completion of the school program, as well as the possibility for all students to participate, without restrictions, in the national exams and evaluations.
The specialized directorates within the Ministry of Education, school inspectorates and pre-university education units carry out the provisions of this order. This order is published in the Official Monitor of Romania, Part I."
