Austria Receives IMPORTANT Support France Preventing Romania's Schengen Accession

Austria unexpectedly receives support from France after preventing Romania from entering the Schengen area, and this is because the French president Emmanuel Macron declared that he agrees with the Netherlands when it comes to the issue of migration and the asylum system, this after the Dutch have decided to collaborate with the Austrians on this issue.

Austria has a very important ally in the Netherlands regarding the issue of migrants and the asylum system in Europe, and the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutter met with the French President Emmanuel Macron in The Hague just these days, among the topics of discussion being that of migration, which generated so many headaches at the European level.

Austria should see its objectives fulfilled when it comes to reducing the number of migrants arriving in the West, and this is because the number of countries demanding a reform of the asylum system, as well as better protection for external borders is increasing, many of them still supporting the rapid accession of Romania to the Schengen Area.

"We are very much in agreement. We need to improve the system if we want to keep it. The Netherlands and France agree on how to tackle migration and limit the number of asylum seekers. But don't reduce the flow [of new arrivals] by discussing previous agreements.

It all boils down to how you put them into practice, and that's been failing for years. We want to see better use of the Dublin rules for new refugees, improved border controls and faster deportation of asylum seekers who do not secure their right of residence. Asylum seekers must apply for asylum in the first safe country they reach."
