The Minister of Education Sends an Extremely IMPORTANT Official Message to the Children of Romania

The Minister of Education is sending an extremely important official message to Romanians throughout the country, and this is because at the center of it are the children, whom he says can be much more easily helped to develop their understanding and language skills, if they are read to out loud in the first years of life.

The Minister of Education explains below why it is important to read to children from an early age, but more than that, he also talks about violence in schools, which must be stopped, this being a national campaign that the authorities in Romania are running at the moment from the girl for the good of the children.

"Studies show us that reading aloud to children, from the first years of life, is not only one of the ways to develop comprehension skills, but also an essential step in language development, implicitly expression skills. The need to provide children with as many contexts as possible to develop their reading skills is one of the reasons why the ministry continues its partnership with the OvidiuRO Association, hosting, today, the launch of the call for a new series of registrations in the program 𝐶𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑠̦𝑡𝑒-𝑚𝑖 100 𝑑𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑠̦𝑡𝑖 !

Dear principals and teachers involved in working with our youngest children, we encourage you to join the more than 2.800 preschool education units that are already part of the program! You will have the opportunity to create a space dedicated to books in your kindergartens and initiate reading activities.

Along with this launch, we inform you that the Ministry of Education will carry out, in February, when we also celebrate the National Reading Day, several actions aimed at promoting the determining role that reading has in the development of children, especially those of young ages! Together, we can support every child in Romania, to guarantee the constitutional right to education!

Let's teach children to say no to violence! First, we, the adults, being their role models. Then, explaining to them why they should say no - talking to them about the rights and obligations they have, about the consequences of illegal acts, about the effects that violence has on what they are and will be!

I express my conviction that educating in the spirit of harmony, solidarity, tolerance, non-discrimination and respect for others means creating premises for safety, comfort and well-being, for students, teachers and parents alike. We all bear the responsibility of an education in the spirit of nonviolence, and a safe school environment means safety and beyond! Thanks for your effort every day."
