The WHO draws attention to the fact that Long COVID can appear approximately 3 months from the moment a person is infected, depending on the variant by which he is affected, and the symptoms can last up to 2 months, this condition having an impact on all age groups, no matter how healthy, or not, the respective people think they are.
The WHO states that some of the symptoms that people may experience due to Long COVID can be disabling, with serious functional deficits, which affects people's lives to the point where they cannot even work, so it recommends that governments establish protocols for treating people, and recommends protection against infection.
"The condition after COVID-19, also known as long-term COVID, can occur regardless of the severity of the infection with COVID-19, the circulating variant of the virus or the age of the person. Evidence shows that it usually occurs 3 months after the onset of COVID-19, with symptoms lasting at least 2 months.
Long COVID affects all age groups and symptoms can appear in people who were previously fit and healthy. WHO has also received reports of the condition occurring more frequently in women than in men. The condition can be debilitating, causing disabling symptoms and functional deficits.”
