The Minister of Education confirms to students and parents from all over Romania the very important new measures that have been decided and will be implemented for schools, and this is because he informs us below about how children are enrolled in the 2023-2024 school year in various educational units.
The Minister of Education talks both about the way the process is carried out in state education units, as well as in private ones, so that we will get as clear an idea as possible about how everything will go, the process itself not really being one as complicated as many people imagine.
"WHAT ARE THE SEPARATION CRITERIA THAT SCHOOLS APPLY IF THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN IS GREATER THAN THE NUMBER OF SEATS? General criteria: a) existence of a medical certificate classifying the child as disabled; b) the existence of a document proving that he is an orphan of both parents. The situation of the child who comes from a children's home/fostering center/family placement is assimilated to the situation of the child orphaned by both parents.
The existence of a document proving that he is an orphan of only one parent; d) the existence of a brother/sister enrolled in the respective educational unit. They are applied according to the general criteria and only if they fail to distinguish between the children, except for the situations provided by the framework methodology.
They are developed by each educational unit separately, but they are applied based on supporting documents, presented by parents/legal guardians and cannot be discriminatory, respectively they must take into account the fact that all children have equal rights, regardless of the condition social, financial, regardless of nationality, race, religion, confession, sex, etc.
HOW DOES ENROLLMENT IN PRIVATE PRIMARY EDUCATION WORK? Registration is done in the first stage. Enrollment is done directly at the educational institution or through the online form, if the authorized/accredited educational institution has entered all its data in the computer application for enrolling in the preparatory class, just like state educational institutions. If not, registration is done only at the educational institution.
In the case of online registration, registration validation is done at the headquarters of the desired educational unit. If, for various reasons, the child is not enrolled at the requested private education unit, he can be enrolled at the constituency school, if the parent/legal guardian/legal representative has ticked the option to return to the constituency school or, in otherwise, participate in the second stage of registration."
