Austria is fighting Internal Struggles, IMPORTANT News for Romania's Schengen Accession

Austria leads Internal Struggles IMPORTANT News Romania's Schengen accession

Austria registers a series of very serious internal struggles after the decision to block Romania's accession to Schengen, the government in Vienna not unanimously agreeing with the veto given in the JAI Council, and recently Karl Nehammer is confronted by various ministers who demand changing it into one of acceptance of our country.

Austria insists on the official level with its veto, but the Romanian ambassador in Vienna claims that in June the current decision could change, and by the end of the year we could see a vote to welcome Romania into the Schengen Area, especially since the year elections will take place in several European countries in the future, and the situation would become extremely complicated for us.

Austria has no unity between the ruling parties when it comes to how the asylum system in Europe should be reformed, the Schengen Area, or how illegal migration should be stopped, with Karl Nehammer having to fight serious battles within the executive to imposes wishes, 2023 being a decisive year.

"The Austrians claim that thousands of illegal migrants reach Europe through Romania. It is not true, in Romania there used to be less than two percent. Yes, to a declaration in June, and in the second semester, to a concrete decision. Next year would be very complicated. Elections will be held everywhere - at the EU level, in Austria, in Romania.

We are in a difficult situation because of the war, price increases and the veto. We will face intense populism both in Romania and in other parts of Europe. Leaving behind the anger and emotions present after the veto. But we don't want to wait until the Schengen area is reformed at the EU level."
