DSU Romania Signs Cooperation Agreement with the United Arab Emirates

DSU Romania officially announced the fact that during an official visit that took place in the United Arab Emirates, a collaboration agreement was signed between the institution in Romania and the similar one in the eastern country, which will probably bring an improvement and services from Romania.

DSU Romania seeks to conclude collaborations with various countries, when possible, and sends its employees to continuous training courses, all so that in the end Romanians can benefit from emergency services capable of saving their lives when needed.

During March 19-20, 2023, the Secretary of State, head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Dr. Raed Arafat, joined the Romanian delegation led by HE Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania, in order to sign the collaboration agreement in the field of civil protection between Department of Emergency Situations and National Emergency Management Authority of the United Arab Emirates.

This Agreement creates the possibility for the two countries to strengthen and increase the capacity to respond promptly and effectively to disasters, when the situation requires it, but also the necessary framework to exchange information and knowledge in the field of emergency situations, characterized by the preparation Romanian or Emirati intervention personnel through exercises or other forms to optimize response efficiency in situations where communities are at risk.

The Department for Emergency Situations within the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue this process of collaboration in the field of emergency situations with relevant institutions from other states, remaining in solidarity with the objective of consolidating and increasing the response quality of the national integrated emergency system, in order to save citizens' lives.
