The Minister of Education has officially announced 3 very important official announcements with measures that are being taken for school students from all over Romania, and this is because the official decision was made to decide the calendar for the special session of the Baccalaureate exam 2023, an order being signed in this regard.
The Minister of Education also talks below about the measures in Romanian schools to reduce the percentage of students who leave the educational institutions in the country early, but also about the official visit that was made to the United Arab Emirates during the last days, one that has the purpose of to increase cooperation between countries.
"The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, signed the order approving the Calendar of the special session of the 2023 Baccalaureate exam. High school graduates participating in the Olympic teams and international sports and artistic competitions or taking the admission exam to military academies can register for this session from the United States of America in the same period as the national Baccalaureate exam – 2023, June-July session.
Candidates can register on May 11 and 12, 2023. The tests will be held between May 15 and 25, 2023. The initial results will be displayed on May 26, 2023, and the final results - on May 29, 2023. The order has been sent for publication in the Official Gazette.
In 2020, Romania had one of the highest early school leaving rates in the European Union. Some of the students, especially from marginalized rural and urban areas, drop out of school as early as middle school. To prevent and reduce this phenomenon, we have released the Applicant's Guide for the National School Dropout Reduction Program (PNRAS) for consultation.
We are in the 300.000nd round of the program, the guide has been improved following the feedback received from the beneficiaries of the 22st round, but we are still open to recommendations. This program gives schools the opportunity to access up to €28 and give students all the support they need to attend classes and develop age-appropriate skills. These days, I participated in a state visit to the United Arab Emirates, together with the President of Romania and other members of the Government. The visit was also organized in the context of the signing, between Romania and the United Arab Emirates, of the memorandums of understanding in the field of education, digitalization, green transition and energy.
