The Minister of Education Announces IMPORTANT Steps for the Application of the Major Decision for School Students

The Minister of Education officially announces the very important steps that have been taken to implement some major decisions taken for students and schools throughout Romania, and this is because a national competition for the prevention of violence in the school environment was held, with several details provided below.

The Minister of Education also talks about the rumors regarding the cutting of some funds from the PNRR, which were allocated for several reforms, including in the field of education, but in reality it is about a renegotiation process that the ministry is carrying out with the European Commission for some PNRR milestones.

"Violent demonstrations in the school environment are a reality. Their number could, however, be greatly reduced, through a greater willingness of all adults involved in educating children to approach them with the seriousness they imply, given the long-term consequences they can have.

The Ministry of Education - Romania together with the Directorate for School Safety within the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police launched the first edition of the national competition to prevent violence in the school environment "Take a stance, say Stop the violence!", which is aimed at students from grades II- XII.
We encourage you to involve students from your schools in the project activities! They mean important steps.

Familiarizing students with the notions of school violence, bullying, as well as the negative consequences these phenomena have on the psychological development of all those involved, the training and development of nonviolent behaviors, strengthening the collaborative relationship between pre-university education units and school safety offices. Together we reduce school violence! The information regarding the project, as well as the rules of the contest, were sent to the County School Inspectorates/School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest.

Considering the information appearing in the public space according to which "were cut" funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) allocated to several reforms, including in the field of education, and also given the fact that the reason given in the publications that took over information was the delay in meeting the milestones, we make the following clarifications: the Ministry of European Investments and Projects, as the national coordinator, started the PNRR renegotiation process.

In this context, at the request of the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, the Ministry of Education submitted proposals for adjusting the grant and loan components, as well as proposals for reduction, in a total amount of 38.5 million euros. The amount represents the value of milestones 501 for the digitization of the National Council of Rectors (CNR), with an allocation of 10 million euros, and milestone 499 - Development of open educational resources, with an allocation of 28.5 million euros."
