Volodymyr Zelenski makes a Historic Visit to Germany in Full War with Russia

Today, Volodymyr Zelensky made a historic visit to Germany, in the midst of the war between Ukraine and Russia, going to Berlin to meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz, discussing with both of them the help offered to his country in the last year.

Volodymyr Zelensky talks below about the visit made today, it being part of a European tour that the president of Ukraine is currently making to meet in the major European capitals with the leaders who have supported him so much.

"First visit to Germany since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression: Welcome to Berlin, President Selenskyj. We talked about the current situation and the intensive cooperation between Germany and Ukraine.

Germany will continue to support Ukraine politically, militarily and financially as long as it is necessary. Germany is a reliable partner. We thank Germany for its great military, economic and financial support in the fight against the Russian war of aggression.

Important meeting in Berlin. Germany's leadership in defending peace can make the world a safer place. The more we work together for peace, the more Germany assumes a leading role in defending peace, the more stability there will be in international relations.

Germany and Ukraine are reliable allies. Together we are approaching victory. I visited the military base in the city of Aachen, where Ukrainian soldiers are trained. Together with the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, they talked with the Ukrainian soldiers.

He also presented state awards to the soldiers. Thank you guys for representing our country. We are waiting for you at home. Come back and make our army even stronger on the battlefield.

I met with members of the German security cabinet. The format of this meeting is unique and fully reflects the high level of cooperation that has been achieved between our states.

I am grateful to the German government and each of the state representatives present for the effective and comprehensive support given to Ukraine since the first days of large-scale Russian aggression."
