The Minister of Education makes a series of last-minute announcements, which he brings to the immediate attention of millions of students, parents and teachers of schools and high schools throughout Romania, and this is because he is talking about the effects of the Emergency Ordinance of June 1, intended to increase the salaries of teachers and non-teaching staff.
The Minister of Education also explains 2 false information that were distributed in the public space, one according to which the Emergency Ordinance would be unconstitutional, and another according to which salaries would decrease, but Ligia Deca explains the fact that the reality is exactly the opposite, and none must be considered true.
"All salaries in the education system are increasing, no salary is decreasing! I emphasized today, at the press conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education, that all basic salaries will be increased, which will be felt in the net income of all education personnel. We are asking teachers to return to school so that students can take their exams. We all want to be able to finish this school year on good terms!
The last weeks represented an alarm signal that I understood. We appreciate the solidarity shown by teachers and their colleagues in recent weeks. We all know that teachers need decent salaries, and they definitely deserve more respect from us, the governors, but also from the whole society.
The work of the school staff is an essential one, as the studies have shown us, but as the pandemic has also shown us, and I think that the whole society wants the educational sector to settle on a completely different basis, from all points of view. view. From the point of view of the teaching career, of the infrastructure, but also from the point of view of the real centering of education on the student.
At the proposal of the representatives of the unions, through the Emergency Ordinance of June 1, we guarantee an increase of 1.000 LEI gross per month for teaching and auxiliary teaching staff, and 400 LEI gross per month for non-teaching staff. As a message, all salaries in education are increasing, no salary is decreasing. If you consult the opinion of the Legislative Council, you will see that it was favorable.
In the opinion, there is no mention of the sentence "unconstitutional", there are a number of observations, but the GEO followed the legislative process, it had the opinion of the CES, it had the opinion of CL, it was adopted on June 1 to give a signal about the pricing on that we have in relation to the teachers who take care of our children."
