Google Chrome, the world's most popular browser, is preparing to launch a revolutionary feature for its users: the creation of personalized themes with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). This innovation follows the success of the AI wallpapers on the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, thus bringing a new dimension to the web browsing experience.
Google recently announced that Chrome users will soon have the ability to create their own AI-generated browser themes. This feature was originally discovered by user Leopeva64 on the unofficial Canary version of the Chrome browser. This is a significant leap in the integration of AI into Google products, after similar features were released on the company's mobile devices.
Similar to the options available on the Pixel 8, the new feature in Chrome starts by asking the user to choose a theme. But the options are much more robust than those offered for Google's flagship phones. Under the topics tab, there are categories such as Buildings, Food, Everyday Objects, Nature, Space, US Cities and Parks, and more. For example, under the Buildings category, users can choose between Airport, Cafe, Castle, Lighthouse, Office, etc. In the Space category, themes can be built around Constellations, Satellites, Moon, Sun, Stars, Solar System, Spaceships and more.

One of the most anticipated categories is that of US cities. A quick look shows options for Arches National Park, Chicago, the Grand Canyon, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and the Everglades, among others. Once the theme is selected, the user can further adjust the theme with color and mood options – for example, a sad Chicago in shades of steampunk-style blue or a romantic expressionist airport in shades of red.
While the feature isn't live yet, anticipation is high. The Chrome variant is expected to offer an even more immersive and personalized experience than the one offered on the Pixel 8 Pro. Given the usual times between a feature appearing in Chrome's code and its actual implementation, it's likely we'll see a full rollout of this feature in the coming months.
