Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday emphasized his nation's intense and ongoing efforts to recover from a series of devastating Russian attacks. In a recent statement, Zelenski highlighted the mobilization of all emergency services, including repair brigades and rescue teams, to deal with the consequences of Russian strikes that targeted civilians and critical infrastructure, rather than military targets.

"Throughout the day, most attention is directed to all our regions affected by last night's Russian strikes. Everywhere there were impacts, recovery efforts are ongoing," Zelenski said, marking a day of round-the-clock work for the services involved. The attacks, described by Zelenski as "extremely heinous", took place in various regions, including Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk.

On defense, Zelenskiy emphasized the increased importance of air defense, highlighting that effective protection against Russian missiles and Shahed drones requires strong political will from Ukraine's international partners. "Russian terror is only possible now because we don't have enough modern air defense systems - in other words, frankly, because our partners don't have the political will to provide them," the president said.

In the international context, Zelensky mentioned significant meetings with European leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Denmark Troels Lund Poulsen, to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defenses. He also highlighted the support received from the Council of Europe, including the establishment of a Registry of Damages Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation and the opening of its office in Kyiv.

Zelensky concluded by expressing Ukraine's gratitude for international support and stressed the importance of continued cooperation to ensure the security and stability of the region. The recovery and reconstruction efforts, supported by the international community, reflect the commitment to combat aggression and promote peace.
