Marcel Bolos: LAST MINUTE Official Decision on RCA Tariff Prices!

Marcel Bolos announces a last-minute official decision regarding RCA tariff prices in Romania, here are the measures officially announced now.

Marcel Bolos Official Decision LAST MINUTE RCA Tariff Prices

Marcel Bolos, made an important announcement regarding compulsory car insurance (RCA) rates. According to the official's statement, the capping of RCA tariffs will be extended until June 30, 2024, a decision that comes in the context of the expiration of the previous extension, adopted at the end of 2023.

The basis of this decision is the desire to maintain stability on the car insurance market, still marked by numerous challenges. "We have transparently published a proposal to extend the capping of RCA tariffs, a temporary measure necessary in the face of unresolved problems in the market", declared Marcel Bolos.

This extension is intended to continue the application of the reference rates established for RCA policies, with the values of 28 February 2023 as the starting point, with the allowance of an adjustment of 6,8%, equivalent to the forecast rate of inflation. The decision follows the observation of a persistent imbalance between demand and supply in the insurance market, which requires long-term solutions.

"Until the necessary legislative changes in the field of RCA insurance, it is crucial to protect drivers from the risks associated with accidents involving uninsured vehicles", the minister emphasized. The statistics referred to by the official are eloquent: of the 10 million vehicles registered in Romania, only 7 million benefit from insurance, while the number of accidents rises to over 25.000 annually.

This measure reflects a constant concern of the authorities to ensure a balance on the car insurance market and to protect citizens from potential damages, pending legislative changes that will bring lasting solutions to the identified problems.
