Germany LAST MINUTE Official Measures make Romania's Schengen Accession USELESS

Germany takes a series of last-minute official measures, which make Romania's accession to Schengen unnecessary, they were announced by Berlin for all of Europe, and as expected, the country will secure all its borders during EURO 2024, imposing controls at all border crossing points, Minister Nancy Faeser announcing this.

Germany imposes these measures to protect its borders during a very important sporting event, and Romania's accession to Schengen by air becomes unnecessary since all borders will be subject to security checks, so that the ease of travel disappears completely, theoretically also at airports.

Germany states that it imposes these measures strictly for security reasons, due to the fact that during EURO 2024 a very large number of people will arrive on its territory, and they should be checked very carefully, so that Romania's accession to Schengen does not it will help here, but after the final tournament the situation will eventually return to normal.

"We will carry out temporary border controls at all German borders during the tournament to prevent potential perpetrators of violence from entering the country. This is necessary to provide the best possible protection for this major international event. Temporary checks are a proven set of security tools.

Border control would focus on the threat of Islamist terrorism, extremists, hooligans and other violent criminals. The measures will also include network security against cyber attacks. German security authorities have made no changes to their security assessment of the terrorist threat to Germany following the attack in Moscow, their threat assessment is ongoing."
