Sebastian Burduja, the current Minister of Energy, today officially announced his candidacy for the position of Mayor General of the Municipality of Bucharest, promising a radical transformation of the capital. Surrounded by over a thousand supporters, Burduja submitted the necessary documents, accompanied by over 30.000 signatures, collected in record time by the PNL Bucharest team.
In an impassioned speech, Burduja highlighted the shortcomings of the current administration and presented his vision for a modern and safe city. "The Bucharest of recent years has been a city without a clear development plan, without a team capable of supporting this plan and, most importantly, without a general mayor capable of delivering concrete results," Burduja told the crowd.
His impressive background, with studies at Stanford and Harvard and professional experience as a development expert at the World Bank and the UN, positions Burduja as a candidate ready to bring about the necessary change. His experience in government, at the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization, is, according to him, proof that he can deliver concrete results.
"The change we want means that Bucharest becomes that city where we love to live and of which we are proud. A city for everyone, where we can walk with pleasure in the parks, without fear of drugs when we send our children to school and without choking on pollution," he added, stressing the need for reform in local administration.
Sebastian Burduja concluded with a call to all Bucharest residents, inviting them to join his effort to transform the capital into the "Bucharest of the Future", a city where young people can fulfill their dreams. With its campaign slogan, "Forward, together!", Burduja promises a close collaboration with citizens to achieve this common dream.
