Official Victory LAST MOMENT Nicusor Dan Measures Announced Bucharest

Nicusor Dan, the mayor of the Capital, held a press conference today in which he presented the latest achievements in terms of infrastructure and urban regulations.

Road Markings and Signaling in the Henri Coandă District

Nicusor Dan announced that the teams of the Street Administration have successfully completed the installation of road signs and markings on the streets of the Henri Coandă neighborhood, according to the established work schedule. "We continue to draw road markings on the streets where there are none, to ensure safer and more fluid road traffic," said Nicușor Dan.

Ongoing Projects on Strada Nisipoasa

On Nisipoasa Street, the local administration is in the stage of carrying out the technical project. The execution of the works will begin immediately after the completion of the water supply and sewerage networks, including the branches and connections for the riverside. "These works are in full swing and will be finished by autumn," assured Nicusor Dan.

Legal Victory against Real Estate Developers

Another important point of the conference was the decision of the Bucharest Court to reject One Properties' request to cancel the Zonal Urban Plan (PUZ) of the protected area around the Modrogan Palace. This decision confirms the legality of the Decision of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest from 2000 (HCGMB no. 279/2000) regarding the establishment of built-up protected areas.

Protection of the Historical Areas of Bucharest

"I presented today, during the press conference, how the real estate project on Aleea Modrogan no. 1 represents a clear example of real estate mafia," said Nicusor Dan. The housing complex was built on the green space of the historical monument Modrogan Palace based on an authorization issued in the previous mandate. A year and a half ago, the courts suspended both the PUZ and the building permit.

"It is the first litigation to be finalized, and the Bucharest Court found that PUZ Protected Zones is a legal document, which protects the historical areas of the city," emphasized Nicusor Dan. The Protected Zone PUZ regulation, issued 24 years ago, began to be rigorously applied only during the mandate of the current administration.

Ongoing Litigation

On the basis of this PUZ, the administration rejected the requests to issue building permits that exceeded the height, lateral distances, percentage of land occupation and its utilization ratio. "After the courts canceled the authorizations issued by the former administration for illegal constructions in the historical area, a series of litigations began through which various private individuals tried to cancel this documentation.

There are still about ten ongoing litigations, but I have full confidence in the courts," concluded Nicușor Dan. Nicusor Dan is committed to continuing the fight for a safer, better organized and respectful Bucharest for its historical heritage.
