Marcel Bolos, Minister of Finance, announces that in a period of two weeks, the Government of Romania has approved a total increase of 5 billion lei for the Romanian medical system. After the allocation of 2 billion lei last week, today a new tranche of XNUMX billion lei was approved for investment in new equipment and the improvement of treatment and prevention conditions for patients in Romania.
Marcel Bolos made the announcement during the event organized by the Council of Foreign Investors - FIC, dedicated to investments in health. In his speech, Boloș emphasized the importance of effective collaboration at the governmental level to ensure the financing of the record investment plan in health, which has the potential to fundamentally transform the way medical services are provided in Romania.
"Although we do not have a lot of financial resources, we have found the necessary solutions so that health is not affected", declared Marcel Bolos. He presented the evolution of expenditures allocated to health in the period 2018-2024, highlighting a significant increase of approximately 90%, from 40 billion lei in 2018 to 77,4 billion lei in 2024.
Marcel Bolos a mentioned that an important part of the budget approved today will be allocated to emergency reception structures at the national level, both pre-hospital and hospital, to equip them with modern medical equipment and devices.
In recent days, the minister had discussions with the Ministry of Health and CNAS about the financing of essential services such as dialysis, radiotherapy and insulin pumps for children, assuring that solutions will be found in the coming period.
Through these measures, the Government of Romania reaffirms its commitment to bring the level of medical services in Romania to European standards, ensuring the necessary funding for perspective investments in health.
