Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian president, participated in several key meetings on defense issues, emphasizing the remarkable progress of the Ukrainian arms industry and the increasing attention paid to national defense.
The first meeting concerned the production of armaments and the development of strategic industries, especially advances in artillery and locally produced drones. Zelenski appreciated the report presented by Oleksandr Kamyshin, mentioning the significant progress made this year in several critical areas.
"We managed to produce our own shells and cannons and develop several types of drones for various missions. They not only support the defense on the first line, but manage to strike deeper and deeper into Russian territory. We will expand this," Zelenskiy said. He also added that this year Ukraine passed the milestone of the first 100 units of missile armament.
The second meeting brought together high-ranking military leaders, including Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi, Chief of Staff General Barhylevych and Defense Minister Umerov. "The greatest attention is now focused on the Kurakhove direction," Zelenskiy emphasized, showing that the army is working intensively to strengthen the positions in this area and in the Pokrovsk direction, which are currently among the most challenging points on the front.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president addressed the issue of Russia's recent attacks on several regions, including Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia. "Russian drones and missiles strike daily, bringing suffering and destruction. "Every discussion with our partners who have air defense systems is an opportunity to ask for additional protection for Ukraine against Russian terror," Zelensky said.
In the spirit of the national tradition of honoring the Heroes of Ukraine, the president announced the allocation of 30 apartments for warriors and families of those serving in various military forces of Ukraine, including a special tribute to a member of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv, who -lost his life in battle.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that this tradition will remain the "foundation of Ukraine's policy towards Heroes" and that the country will continue to show its respect to those who saved Ukraine through concrete actions and real decisions that demonstrate the state's care towards them.
This series of meetings reflects the determination of the Ukrainian administration to improve the defense capabilities of the country and to honor the courage of those who fight for the sovereignty of Ukraine.
