The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, he emphasized the importance of the extremely necessary measures for the education system in Romania, and this because the duty of the Romanian Government is to support investments in the modernization of schools in order to increase the quality of education and attract well-trained teaching staff.
Minister of Education emphasized in a recent meeting with teachers from Horezu, Valcea, and the surrounding towns, the major challenges facing the Romanian educational system, but also the efforts that must be made to invest in a better education system in Romania.
"I'm glad that a female teacher brought up one of the biggest challenges: the overcrowding of certain schools and, as a consequence, the depopulation of others, especially those from rural areas", declared Ligia Deca. She emphasized that the modernization of all educational units, regardless of location, is essential to reduce the tendency of parents to enroll their children in "center schools".
"A modern school attracts not only children, but also well-prepared human resources, which increases the quality of education", added the minister. The Minister of Education highlighted the fact that Romania currently benefits from historic investments in educational infrastructure, over 3,5 billion euros being allocated through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The Minister of Education started his day by reading stories to the children from the Colony Kindergarten in Ramnicu Valcea, as part of the "Read me 100 stories" initiative, run by the OvidiuRO Association. "Every child deserves to grow up in an environment that stimulates their imagination, curiosity and desire to explore. Early reading has a lasting impact, and programs like 'Read me 100 stories' are an investment in the future of a more confident generation", said Ligia Deca.
During the discussions with teachers and parents from Valcea, the minister noted a real concern for the development of dual education, seen as a solution for young people to stay in the county. "I share the parents' conviction that this can be the solution for young people to stay in Valcea. It is, at the same time, one of the ways through which the city can develop from an economic point of view", she said.
The Minister of Education states that, although Valcea is not currently part of the partnerships for the establishment of the 29 dual education campuses financed by PNRR, Ligia Deca assured that this will not prevent the development of this type of education in the county. "We will continue to support the development of dual education here, because its young people ramana at home, near their families", concluded the Minister of Education.
