"We need to bring the lab to the samples—as DAVINCI will do in the 2030s—to get a clear picture of Venusian chemistry and dynamics," explained James Garvin, principal investigator of the DAVINCI mission. Other proposals include using aerial vehicles capable of flying at varying altitudes below the cloud layer to collect data from different levels of the Venusian atmosphere.

Exploring Venus has far broader implications than simply understanding the planet itself. A better understanding of the Venusian environment will provide essential context for studying similar exoplanets, making it easier to interpret data about worlds outside our solar system.
