ANM, National Meteorological Administration, issued the official last-minute weather alert for Romania on February 13, 2025, bringing to our immediate attention multiple immediate severe weather phenomena, which will affect various regions of the country in the coming hours.
ANM states that cold weather is expected, with frosty nights and mornings in several areas of the country. According to the official statement, the regions in the center of the country, the mountainous areas, as well as certain restricted areas in the south and east will record minimum temperatures between -14 and -6 degrees, with additional drops in eastern Transylvania, where values can reach up to -17 degrees.
It is expected that, on Monday, maximum temperatures will generally remain below zero, especially in Moldova and Dobrogea, where the values will range between -4 and 0 degrees. For Tuesday and Wednesday (February 11 and 12), local fluctuations have also been announced in the regions of Muntenia and Oltenia.
Authorities emphasize that weather warnings and alerts are updated depending on the duration and severity of the forecast phenomena. The information is issued when weather conditions, although usual for the winter period, may become temporarily dangerous for certain activities.
Warnings for immediate hazardous phenomena are issued for a maximum period of 6 hours. Citizens are advised to follow updates and take the necessary precautions to avoid possible inconveniences caused by extreme weather conditions.
