PPC Romania Announces Official Steps BREAKING NEWS Impacting Millions of Customers

PPC Romania officially reveals to millions of Romanians across the country a new extremely important initiative, which it is carrying out at a national level together with its distribution operator, Retele Electrice Romania, as they have launched an ambitious investment program worth 1,2 billion lei, aiming to modernize and expand the electricity infrastructure in the main areas of the country, such as South Muntenia, Banat and Dobrogea.

PPC Romania draws attention to the fact that this substantial investment, of which 950 million lei comes from its own funds, marks an important step in ensuring safe and efficient food for consumers across the country, regardless of their location.

The projects carried out in 2024 focused on the modernization of transformer stations, the expansion of both underground and overhead power lines, as well as the digitalization of the network for more efficient management of unplanned outages.

The investments target both the infrastructure of high, medium and low voltage networks, as well as the improvement of services offered to customers, thus contributing to building an intelligent and resilient network, capable of meeting the requirements of a continuously evolving energy transition.

Mihai Peste, General Manager of Retele Electrice Romania, emphasized that these investments are essential for increasing the quality and security of electricity supply. Compared to the previous year, investments increased by 27%, reflecting the company's commitment to continuously modernize the network and expand the connection capacity of new consumers. This strategic approach ensures long-term benefits and strengthens PPC Romania's position as a leader in the field of energy infrastructure.

PPC Romania says that in Bucharest, the major projects aimed at modernizing the Filaret and Obor transformer stations, along with the rehabilitation of the medium and low voltage networks in the Scarlatescu and Caracas areas, investments exceeding 82 million lei.

In Ilfov County, works were carried out to amplify the Solex station, modernize the networks in the Popești Leordeni area and convert the 110 kV power lines from overhead to underground in the Fundeni-Afumati and Fundeni-CET Brazi areas, projects valued at over 40 million lei.

Moreover, works have been started for the execution of a new high-voltage line from Otopeni to the Balotesti area, where a new transformer station will be connected. Through these massive investments, PPC Romania and Retele Electrice Romania demonstrate their commitment to the modernization and improvement of the distribution infrastructure, ensuring a safer electricity supply adapted to the current and future needs of consumers. This strategy contributes to the development of a modern, intelligent and resilient, essential for the success of the energy transition in Romania.
