The Minister of Education, Daniel David, recently revealed a very important Government Decision, which was drafted to finally approve the tuition figures for state pre-university education and state higher education for the 2025-2026 school/university year.
Minister of Education draws attention to the fact that the normative act, developed based on data centralized by school inspectorates, comes as a result of a careful analysis of demographic evolution and the flows of entry and exit from the educational system.
According to the minister's statements, the proposed figures for pre-university education, except for those for military pre-university education, remain at the level of 2024-2025. It was decided to keep most of the parameters, because the demographic evolution and students' enrollment preferences have remained largely stable.
However, the authorities have also proposed several specific changes, intended to meet the current requirements of the educational system:
- High school for 1000th grade: XNUMX places will be added for day/evening education, within the dual program, as a result of the need to diversify options for students.
- Early childhood education: 5000 additional places will be created to ensure broader coverage of the requirements of this crucial stage of children's development.
- Seat reductions: Due to the decrease in the number of students opting for certain forms of education, a reduction of 500 places will be made in high school for the 5000th grade, in evening or reduced attendance, and a similar reduction for the XNUMXth grade, in evening attendance. Also, the "Second Chance" educational program will register a reduction of XNUMX places, amid the completion of European-funded projects.
The Minister of Education states that the breakdown of the figures at the county level, by school inspectorates and higher education institutions, will be carried out by the Ministry of Education and Research, which will subsequently distribute the places and grants for bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies.
The enrollment figures include places reserved for minors who have requested or received forms of protection in Romania, as well as places for stateless minors whose stay in the country is officially recognized.
Minister Daniel David stressed the importance of a flexible policy, which takes into account the changes in the educational system and the varied needs of pupils and students. “The decisions taken are the result of a rigorous analysis and aim not only to maintain a constant level of quality, but also to adapt to the challenges of the future,” he stated.
The normative act, without major structural changes compared to previous years, confirms the Government's commitment to ensuring equitable access to education and to responding appropriately. dynamic changes in society, thus ensuring a solid foundation for the formation of future generations.
