Provisions of the Act of the Ministry of Education LATEST Special Provisions Romanian Education

Ministry of Education, Daniel David, has made public a series of provisions that are already in force thanks to a ministerial act signed by him, establishing the new calendar of the special session of the National Evaluation addressed to eighth-grade graduates who represent Romania at international competitions recognized by the ministry and national sports federations in the 2024-2025 school year.

Ministry of Education emphasizes that its new regulatory act creates a unified framework that allows student athletes to take exams at the right time, without compromising their preparation for external competitions, the participation in which they bring important prestige to Romania.

According to the document, the special calendar becomes an integral part of the order and applies exclusively to these candidates. The nominal list is endorsed by the General Directorate for Equity and Performance in Pre-university Education and subsequently approved by the president of the National Commission for the Organization of the National Evaluation 2025, ensuring a transparent selection of beneficiaries.

The Ministry of Education has determined that this exact calendar of tests will be sent to inspectorates and schools in the immediate future, keeping the time interval between subjects as in the regular session, but positioned before or after the international competitions to which the teams are called.

The Ministry of Education will publish the annex with the specific data on the institution's website, and the exam centers will receive detailed technical instructions to guarantee identical examination conditions. At the same time, the local organizing committees will display the detailed schedule on the noticeboard, to avoid confusion.

The special session is conducted according to the general methodology of the National Assessment, with reference to both the framework introduced in the 2010-2011 school year and the updates in 2024, maintaining the coherence of the rules. The tests, scales and scoring method remain unchanged, so that the results obtained have the same validity as in the traditional sessions.

The Ministry of Education also confirms that the implementation of the order involves the mobilization of several specialized departments within the ministry. The departments responsible for equity, infrastructure, digitalization, minorities, as well as the National Center for Curriculum and Evaluation are coordinating the administrative and financial measures.

The financing of the special session will be covered from the ministry's budget, with the possibility of reallocating funds within the limits of approved credits. In addition, schools can request additional logistical support through the county inspectorates for the transportation of subjects and the securing of exam spaces, ensuring the smooth conduct of the process.

The Ministry of Education, through this decision, states that sporting excellence is compatible with school performance, offering students from national teams the opportunity to participate in international competitions without the risk of missing the decisive moment of their high school career.

The order signed by Daniel David thus becomes a bridge between the educational and sports systems, capitalizing on the dual potential of young people who represent their country in the classroom and on the global arena. The measure complements recent strategies regarding the flexibility of school routes and confirms the orientation of the system towards principles of equity and performance.
