  1. I started the download of the new system, and I see that it goes fast...very fast indeed.
In the meantime, the update for Safari 6.1 appeared.
Finished downloading Mavericks. It didn't take more than 5 minutes to download those over 5GB. Let's see how it looks and how it moves after installation.
    I come back with impressions.

  2. Ready.
I installed the new OS, and as a first impression I have the feeling that it responds a bit slower when opening the default installed applications, such as Safari or Mail. But maybe it's just a false impression.
The complete installation took around 20-25 minutes.
Just in case, I saved the Mavericks installation kit. It is in the form of an app in Applications.
I'm not very impressed with the Finder. Implementation of Tabs is OK. Right click on the folder and you have the option to open in new tab. I think I will return to XtraFinder.
I haven't discovered all the news, but at the moment it seems OK.
It remains to be seen in the following days if we like it or not.
    A good evening.

  3. Hello
I have not done a system update until now and I want to know if after the installation all the data and applications you had on the hard drive remain or are deleted.
    thank you very much

  4. @vlad It is advisable to make a backup with any OS installation. I can't tell you 100% if you don't lose anything, let's wait for others to say.

  5. I installed it and I didn't lose anything. But I stayed calm because I have a back-up made. In case something went wrong, I didn't lose anything. After tonight's installation, all applications and data remained. But as a safety measure save the data, documents, everything you have sensitive.

  6. BOOOO!

So, a few weeks ago in another post I asked when do you think the new macbook pro would come out, at that time I had a macbook pro 13" i5 8 gb ram that I wanted to exchange for the latest macbook pro model but I didn't want to My lips burn with nerves when the new model appears and it is much better than macbook pro retina. Considering that no one answered me and that I realized that I can probably buy it in December, I decided to change it. At the same time, I was very curious when Maverick appeared, hoping to notice a change in speed also due to the operating system. Well, considering the fact that now I have a macbook pro 15" i7 quad 16 gb ram 500 gb ssd with maverick on it, tonight, I can define the speed and I will do it like in a commercial with horia brenciu: The speed is like when you have sex with Aphrodite while riding a motorcycle and flames come out of your butt synchronized to Beethoven's sonata of the moon part 3!

  7. It's worth installing cleanly... The first time I gave an update but I didn't notice a change (I'm referring to the performance).
