Video: Samsung Galaxy Tab preview

Today a published in South Korea a video showing the new Samsung Galaxy Tab and the interface based on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The tablet has a WCDMA 3G chip, WiFi chip, a front camera for video calls, DMB tuner, SDHC card slot plus a 1Ghz processor and probably 256MB of RAM. The menu moves very, very well, everything opens very easily, but the appearance is far below what iOS offers, but that's just my opinion. Internet pages are opened very quickly, but when it comes to navigating through the page, you begin to realize why Apple does not allow flash content to run. You can see how difficult it is to pinch-to-zoom on that page, and viewing a certain part of the page becomes a real challenge, everything moves very very heavily.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is 2 times smaller than the iPad tablet, which is a big plus for those who want mobility, but overall I for one am disappointed with how it looks and my opinion is that this tablet is absolutely nowhere near the title of "iPad killer". To be honest, I was expecting something like this because the producers are just at the beginning and it takes a few failures to make a successful product.

  1. "it takes a few failures to make a successful product" and in the meantime the iPad will evolve and look like this no one will reach the success of the iPad. i'm disappointed why samsung brings their tablet, it's basically a galaxy s with a bigger screen that doesn't appeal at all. according to me FAIL. let's see more attempts 😛

  2. I look, I read and I am amazed how quickly some people give verdicts like "fail" to a product that will definitely have its niche of success, that is if it is left, however, to be launched without any of us, the inhabitants of this country who it does not produce anything notable to give our superior opinion and to give heavy qualifications...

@zaone, it's not about you, I like your logic in the conclusion: "The Samsung Galaxy Tab is 2 times smaller than the iPad tablet, which is a big plus for those who want mobility, but overall I for one am disappointed with how is presented and my opinion is that this tablet is absolutely not close to the title of "iPad killer". To be honest, I was expecting something like this because the manufacturers are just at the beginning and it takes a few failures to make a successful product" - it has an objective balance that I would conclude with a conclusion: really, it's hard to reach the status of an iPad killer, the iPhone hasn't reached it even now.

  3. "it's basically a galaxy s with a bigger screen" lol…look: it's basically an iphone with a bigger screen (talking about the ipad)

  4. it's ugly 🙂 too small to be able to see a site at its size without zoom and too big to carry it with you in case you don't have a bag 🙂 or you get a galaxy s (which in my opinion is an imitation of the concepts apple) or an ipad in case you find a use for it. Here I think we are also talking about utility + comfort, which the ipad could offer for certain tastes. If you want mobility, it's worth comparing the Galaxy S with the Ip 4, but if we're talking about comfort and certain "utilities" that a tablet like this could offer... between the iPad and others... there's no comparison...

  5. what I said above is strictly my opinion about the product. I personally don't like it, simply. this does not mean that I categorize it as a FAIL, but from my point of view it is a fail. some may find it useful. it seems too small to me, that's why I said it's a galaxy s with a bigger screen, while the ipad has a 10-inch screen and a much more powerful hardware (taking into account that it was released before the iphone 4, so comparing with 3gs).

  6. @glm: We all form opinions about certain things, some of us verbalize them, others write them down. This is my opinion, it will be a failure, why? Because if I'm going to take after this video: it has an ugly UI, and it moves absolutely terribly when browsing the web.

  7. @zaone I wanted us all to temper ourselves a little more, in expressing such radical opinions as formulated by some, it is counterproductive and we only prove childish passions without content and useless. If you bring precise arguments like you do, it's ok, you can give your opinion, but if another says: "it's fail" because that's what he thinks, his opinion is = 0.

now on topic: I completely agree with you: until a manufacturer releases a tablet like the iPad, they have to work.

  8. which of you worked on the ipad for more than 1 hour continuously? do you know how heavy it becomes after 20 minutes of holding it in your hands? I think that a 7-inch tablet would be much more comfortable and I'm telling you this because I had a 7-inch tablet PC that was much simpler to use and much more comfortable to hold, but it wasn't very performant, it was a copy of ipad namely apad.
I can't wait to order the galaxy pad and I pray that something appears on windows 7 so that I can be truly happy.

  9. I think that the only "ipad killer" is this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqeeQd-YNL0 -a tablet running meego, of course a lot depends on everyone's preferences, but I for one consider the interface over iOS/android/the speed with which it opens the applications is decent, now let's see the applications that will come out for meego.

ps it's possible I'm wrong but I think this tablet has an "Intel Moorestown" at its heart

a small and interesting video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lklVrKtwNfsm

  10. On the other hand, it seems to me that Internet Explorer moves very well, considering the crowded flash on the respective page. That is, if you put that flash page with everything on an iPad, it dies instantly. In my opinion

  11. So that tablet with MeeGo beats the samsung galaxy tab because it's not visible. My opinion is that the interface is better than the one in iOS, you're right Volt, that's the iPad killer.
