Snapchat is one of the most popular social networks on the planet, and last night it was discovered that it decided to block the accounts of users who use jailbreak and various tweaks designed to modify the functionality of the application.
Those from Snapchat have implemented in the application a system that detects tweaks that modify its functionality and offers options that are not normally available for regular users, the detection being done automatically, the account blocking being generated in the same way.
Although those from Snapchat completely blocks user accounts after discovering that the terminals have jailbreak, the good part is that they can be unlocked by accessing this page: https://snapchat.com/unlock but only after the tweaks have been disabled.
This is not the first time that a large company detects iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches that have jailbroken and block certain functions, and it will certainly not be the last company that will resort to such tactics to limit the freedom of users.
For now, no one knows what techniques Snapchat uses to detect the jailbreak and the tweaks that modify the functionality of its application, but surely it won't be long until they are found and removed through various Cydia tweaks.
The same thing happened in the case of the Netflix application, plus many others, and the attempts of those from Snapchat are mostly useless, because by jailbreaking the protection measures will be able to be quickly removed by users through a simple Cydia package which will be released in the following days.
