Wi-Fi Sync 2.0 beta available in Cydia

The first beta version of Wi-Fi Sync 2.0 is since last night available in Cydia, together with it being launched a beta version of the application for Mac OS X. Wi-Fi Sync allows us to synchronize the data of our terminal with iTunes via Wi-Fi /3G thus eliminating the need to physically connect the device to a computer. Wi-Fi Sync had a lot of problems and because of the application, users were unable to restore through iTunes, but the developer claims to have solved the problem in version 2.0.

Here's what Wi-Fi Sync 2.0 brings:

  • Native support for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone 4 fourth generation.
  • The ability to synchronize your device even after taking advantage of a 3G/EDGE data connection.
  • Greater stability and speed.
  • Seamless integration with iTunes
  • Fixed bugs of the previous version.

The application is not yet compatible with iOS 3.x, iPhone 2G and iPod Touch, but the developer is working on these problems and will solve them soon. The Windows version of the app is not yet available, but you can test the app on Mac by downloading the Mac OS X app from here. The application on the Mac must always be opened, it does not open automatically.

Wi-Fi Sync 2.0 can be installed from Cydia from the repo: http://dl.wifisyncapp.com/apt for $9.99. Be very careful, it is a beta version and it could cause you big problems.
