Gevey 3G SIM – o solutie aproape functionala pentru decodarea iPhone 4

S-a discutat atat de mult despre Gevey SIM zilele acestea incat cineva a reusit sa discute cu producatorii acestor cartele si ne explica in sfarsit cum anume functioneaza acest dispozitiv, cine il poate folosi si in ce conditii. Cum functioneaza oare? Toate cartelele operatorilor de telefonie au un anumit cod unic numit IMSI in care se afla informatiile despre abonamentul/cartela voastra. Un cod IMSI arata cam asa : 310 150 987654321, primele 3 cifre 310 reprezinta codul mobil al tarii sau MMC, al doilea set de 3 cifre 150 reprezinta codul retelei mobile sau MNC iar ultimul set de cifre este codul de identificare al cartelei. Atunci cand bagati cartela in iPhone, baseband-ul verifica aceste 2 coduri cu operatorul de telefonie si in functie de raspunsul primit va debloca/tine blocat terminalul vostru. In vechile versiuni ale iOS era foarte usor de pacalit baseband-ul prin falsificarea acestor coduri insa acum acest lucru a fost imposibil de facut pana au aparut noile cartele. Gevey a gasit o metoda noua de a folosi aceste IMSI-uri pentru a pacali operatorii, insa pentru a obtine semnal a fost nevoie sa falsifice un alt cod unic numit TMSI care este emis de de operator la conectarea la retea si este esential pentru obtinerea semnalului. Bun, acum sa vedem care e procedura de activare a retelei: bagati cartela in terminal, veti vedea ca apare o linie de semnal in partea de sus a dispizitivului semn ca acum trebuie sa treceti la pasul urmator care presupune sunatul la numarul unic de urgenta 112 dupa care trebuie sa activati/dezactivati airplane mode si aveti semnal. Numarul unic de urgenta 112 poate fi folosit de pe orice terminal codat sau nu iar cei de la Gevey au gasit o metoda de a pacali reteaua astfel incat aceasta sa ofere un cod TMSI pentru terminal, cod in baza caruia se face inregistrarea la retea si apoi se obtine conexiunea.

Dupa cum stiti, in Romania codul unic de urgenta 112 este destinat folosirii numai in cazuri de urgenta, orice alt gen de utilizare a sa fiind pedepsita de lege. In China acest numar de urgenta a fost dezactivat deci acolo nu e nici o problema sa suni la el pentru ca iti va raspunde un robot care iti va spune ca numarul a fost scos din uz. In Europa situatia e diferita insa teoretic acest gen de cartela ar putea functiona si in Romania avand in vedere ca numarul 112 este activ. Cartelele acestea decodeaza doar baseband-urile terminalului iPhone 4 si vorbim despre toate baseband-urile disponibile pana la iOS 4.3, inclusiv.

Cel care a testat produsul sustine ca respectiva cartela este mult prea scumpa pentru ce ofera, poate da erori oricand si exista sanse ca ea sa nu functioneze cu orice operator.

4. All firmware/baseband combinations for the i4 up to iOS4.3 are vulnerable, however the exploit may be patched in any future software updates or via the carrier. If apple can influence providers to block Cydia it is not impossible for them to press them to fix the exploit. The only way to permanently unlock your baseband is NCK.
5. SIM interposer should not harm your phone hardware, however your network could request IMEI and identify your device during the emergency call. Your identity cannot be faked and it is possible that they will ban your account. There is a reason why SIM cards remain legally the property of the service provider: you are not supposed to tamper with them without breaching contract.
6. Notwithstanding all the problems, SIM interposer does not cause any battery drain since it is only active transiently, nor would it cause signal loss because it does not change cellular transmission other than the initial validation step.
