Facebook - New Function Also Offered in Instagram

Facebook launched today a very important new function for its users, but also for those who use the social media platform Instagram daily. More precisely, thanks to this new function, Instagram users now have the possibility to publish their daily stories including on the Facebook social network at the moment they publish them on Instagram, a new button being available for the functionality.

For several months, Facebook has been testing the option to publish stories from Instagram directly within its social network, and now the function is officially offered. Practically, all those who publish a story through Instagram have the option of choosing to have it automatically shared within the Facebook social network, the same content being available to all users at the same time, without the need for separate publication in both platforms.

Facebook has tested this function exclusively in Portugal until now, but has officially confirmed that it has started offering it to all users globally. The exception will be Facebook pages, as they cannot publish stories, so even though an Instagram account can be linked to a page, it will not be possible to display a story for people who have liked it, or follow it in constantly.

Facebook - the new function also offered in Instagram

Facebook claims that Instagram has 250 million people who use the Stories function daily, the number being a colossal one, but smaller than that of the social network. If Facebook had more monthly active users using the Stories function, then there would be no need for the interconnection with Instagram to publish the stories in both platforms simultaneously, so Facebook is taking advantage of Instagram's popularity.

Facebook stole the Stories feature from Snapchat and although it implemented it in Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and in its own platform, only in Instagram it was successful. No one knows why Facebook failed to reproduce the success of Stories beyond Instagram, but now it is trying to interconnect the world between the two platforms to allow easier publishing of information.

Facebook complicates the publication of stories between Instagram and its social network, so that now more stories should also appear within Facebook. No one knows how long it will take until Facebook will have this function available in Romania as well, but most likely it won't take very long until you should have it available on Instagram and Facebook for our country.
