Baseband 05.13.03 – a step forward for Internet browsing on the iPhone

Almost a week ago I wrote one article in which we said that baseband 05.13.03 from iPhone OS 4.0 beta 1 brings improvements both to the speed of Internet browsing using the connection of the telephone operator and the connection WiFi, but the information was based on the information of the boys from iSpazio and their experience with iPhone OS 4.0 until that moment. I didn't have it installed iPhone OS 4.0 than a few hours, I had to reinstall it because I couldn't receive calls, the problem I encountered even though I had a "full" signal, but returning to 3.1.2 firmware I stayed with the same baseband and to be honest I don't regret it.

After the baseband update, the internet browsing speed improved significantly, the pages load much faster than on baseband 05.12.01Both on 3G and through WiFi, the improvement feeling no matter if I surf with Opera Mini or with Safari. The pages load faster, the download goes at a constant, higher speed, overall surfing the Internet is faster and easier.

Although the internet works better, the signal is not so great, since the baseband update I was told several times that I could not be called, even though I had a "full" signal and when I had it installed iPhone OS 4.0 I could not be called at all, although I could surf the Internet and call someone else. On 3.1.2 firmware I had problems with the call, but for now it remains to be seen in the following days if these are maintained or if they were just small network hiccups.
