The video clip above is a demonstration by iH8sn0w for a jailbreak program with the help of which all iPhone 3GS owners with a new bootrom will be able to switch to jailbroken iOS 4.0. This method will only work for those who have saved SHSHs for firmware 3.1.2 because they will have to switch to firmware 3.1.2 to be able to restore to jailbroken iOS 4.0. Those who are on firmware 3.1.3 and cannot revert to firmware 3.1.2 because they do not have SHSHs will not be able to use this method to switch to iOS 4.0 jailbroken.

This new jailbreak solution will be tethered, which means that when you restart you will have to run it again to jailbreak the phone, in essence it will be a similar situation to the one before the appearance of Spirit which did a complete jailbreak. For now, iH8sn0w is working on perfecting the solution and developing a program to implement the exploit and has not said a possible date for its release.

This jailbreak solution only applies to iPhone 3GS with new bootrom, for the rest of the devices, including iPhone 3GS with old bootrom, you don't need it. To check which bootrom you are using iDetector.
