\"Only\" 400 iTunes accounts were hacked, Apple says

Apple said today that "only" 400 iTunes accounts were affected by the Vietnamese hacker who used them to make purchases worth thousands or maybe tens of thousands of $ from the AppStore. Apple regards this figure as very small compared to the 150 million iTunes accounts, which means that approximately 0.0003% of the total iTunes accounts were affected. To be honest, it was expected that Apple would minimize the impact of the hacker's actions on the iTunes servers in order to preserve its reputation.

Also today, Apple announced that it will implement a new security module in iTunes in an attempt to prevent future "leaks" of this kind. There is the possibility that this change means the need to enter the CVV2 code a little more often than before.
