iPad Mini for Christmas?

There is a rumor that Apple would launch 2 new iPad models in addition to the one already on the market. It is about 2 new models with OLED screens of 5.76 and 7 inches, following that the current model will in turn be equipped with a new OLED screen and probably other hardware improvements. At the moment, the suppliers of iPad screens can barely cope with Apple's requirements and it is expected that a new supplier will be brought in to be able to produce the necessary number of tablets required by Apple, so the Compal company could join those from Samsung in supplying the new OLED screens.

The sources noted that Apple has recently placed new iPad orders to Taiwan-based component makers for the fourth quarter of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011 with 9.7-inch, 5.6-inch and 7-inch models all included.

The 9.7-inch model will see some minor changes, while Apple will add Chimei Innolux (CMI) as one of its panel suppliers.

The new 5.6- and 7-inch iPads will mainly target the e-book reader market, separating them from the 9.7-inch model, which mainly targets multimedia entertainment, the sources stated.

To be honest, I doubt the possibility of introducing 2 new iPad models before the holidays because Apple has a tradition with launches, a tradition it keeps year after year, so we will definitely see a new iPad tablet presented in January with availability from April. Apple has no intention of destroying its sales with the launch of a product ahead of time, so this rumor is a bit unrealistic, I say.
