The FaceTime function in the new iPhone 4 appears in a new video posted on YouTube that shows a video call between a passenger of an airplane in transit and a person on the ground, all of course between 2 iPhone 4 terminals connected to WiFi networks. FaceTime has revolutionized video calls between mobile phones and I am sure that many smartphone manufacturers will think about how to copy this new function of the iPhone 4.

The video quality is quite ok, not great, but we are definitely talking about a WiFi network from an airplane in the air, anyway we can see the interlocutor and the framerate is surprisingly good. My opinion is that this function will be a determining factor for many in the purchase of an iPhone 4, especially for business people who will now be able to talk live even from the plane at much lower prices because the WiFi time in a plane is much much cheaper than the minute of talking on the phone.
