It seems that Apple is quite serious about the quality of the cameras with which the iDevices are equipped, at least this conclusion can be drawn from pictures included by Apple in a patent recently submitted for registration. Basically, we are talking about an attachable accessory that will increase the distance for which we can zoom with the camera included in our iDevices. Although in the pictures the method of capture is somewhat rudimentary, the final product could be a new "magical" invention by Apple that will allow us to take high-quality pictures at fairly long distances.
Apple probably received requests for something like this, otherwise I don't see why they would make such a product. I honestly wouldn't use such an accessory for anything, but I'm sure that there will be quite a few iDevice owners who will buy it, even if Apple will put a rather steep price on it.
