The difference between a coded iPhone and a neverlocked iPhone regarding the WiFi connection

For those of you who still don't know, I own an iPhone 3GS bought from Orange coded and then decoded also by them, but also an iPhone 4 bought neverlocked in Italy. The purpose of this article is to highlight the difference (experienced by me) regarding the way a coded and a neverlocked iPhone works when it comes to the WiFi function. We start with the 3GS which was bought coded from Orange in 2009 and for a year (until the official decoding by Orange) it absolutely refuses to get the correct internet settings and to work with the ad-hoc home network . In fact, the story repeats itself when I try to connect to some WiFi networks in the city, in malls/etc. Once the terminal was decoded, the problem solved itself, that is, it connects to any network now, takes the settings by itself and has absolutely no problem with any WiFi network.

The neverlocked iPhone 4 terminal taken from Italy has a different story: when I activated it for the first time, it refused to take the Internet settings when I connected to the home network and, unlike the 3GS, it did not work even if I entered them manually. After about 10 minutes of nerves, I connected it to the PC and surprise, it asked me to register it in my Apple account. I recorded it without any problem and after that the WiFi started working normally as if nothing had happened. So registering the phone unlocked the WiFi function, otherwise I can't imagine why after registration everything started to work.

I assume that the 3GS started working without problems after decoding from Orange because it was probably registered somewhere and the WiFi function was "unlocked" 100%. I have no other explanation because the phone never asked to be registered with an Apple account like the iPhone 4 did.

I know that the whole experience is strange and probably hard to believe for some of you who have not experienced such problems, but this is my 100% real experience.
