Lumix Phone – the new smartphone from Panasonic

Panasonic is one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world, with a wide range of products in its portfolio, from televisions to microwave ovens and food processors. Yesterday the company a announced that on October 5 he will present a new smartphone called Lumix at an international IT conference in Japan. Panasonic wants to enter the "tough" world of mobile phones with a non-smartphone, which seems to be quite interesting from a hardware point of view, but I don't think it will have its own operating system, but will already run the "classic" Android.

Here are the hardware specifications of the Lumix smartphone:

  • 3.3-inch LCD screen with 854×480 resolution;
  • "Mobile VenusEngine" for HD images;
  • camera with 13MP CMOS sensor;
  • microSDHC slot;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • DLNA support;
  • size: 116×52×17.7mm, weight: 146g.

Panasonic is known for very good quality cameras, so probably the 13 megapixel camera will be a very good quality one and will not disappoint customers as Nokia does with the camera installed in the N8 terminal. The market of mobile terminals is growing and many manufacturers are trying to get a piece of the global profit. I don't know if the Panasonic terminal is worth buying, but we will be able to convince ourselves of this only after the presentation on October 5.
