How to activate AirPrint on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G on iOS 4.2.1 (Windows, Mac)

iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G are the terminals that had the fewest options with the release of iOS 4.0/4.1 and iOS 4.2.1 unfortunately left these terminals without 2 of the most important novelties for iPhone/iPod Touch: AirPrint and AirPlay. Apple considers that these 2 terminals are not capable enough to support such a functionality, so it decided to disable the respective functions, but there is also a method to reactivate the AirPrint function. Of course, this method also implies accepting the fact that your terminals could work much harder than before.

Here's how you can activate the AirPrint function

Step 1

Download redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 3 from here: [download id=”96, 97″]

Step 2

Update to iOS 4.2.1 – if you need baseband, do NOT do it yet!

Step 3

Jailbreak by following the tutorial this but you will use redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 3 and you must activate the multitasking option!

After the terminal enters the system, you will have the AirPrint function already activated.

For now, only the models below work with AirPrint launched by Apple:
