The button for blocking orientation on the iPad was changed with iOS 4.2.1 to fulfill the functionality of the one on the iPhone, i.e. to turn off the sound. In iOS 4.3, Apple introduced a new menu that gives iPad users the possibility to choose what they want to use this button for: locking the orientation or turning off the sound. Does this new option really matter? Yes, we understand that user opinions matter to Apple!
