Those from Engadget managed to get a Sony Xperia Play aka PlayStation Phone terminal for a review and if you want to see what a competitor for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G looks like then I recommend you to read the review. Not much is known about the internal components, but Engadget claims that the device has a 5-megapixel camera that takes pretty good pictures, a 4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 840 x 480, it would have a Qualcomm MSM8655 chipset with a 1Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM plus a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording HD.

The terminal will run Android 2.3 for the start, but the most important aspect is related to the gamepad. To be honest, the concept is good and will catch on with gamers, but Sony needs to produce some compatible games, otherwise the players will have the same experience as the one in the clip below. The Sony Xperia Play could be a great terminal for gaming, but for now few games are compatible with the device's gamepad and the included touchpad. You can find the rest of the information on Engadget.

I personally do not think that this device presents any threat to iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G from any point of view.
