The largest Apple Store will be built in the Grand Central Terminal station

Grand Central Terminal in New Tork is the largest train station in the world and the location where Apple will go open the largest Apple Store. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the first Apple Store and the company intends to celebrate the event properly. The company will make an internal announcement this month, but the launch of the store will only take place in September of this year.

Reports that Apple was looking at the New York landmark first appeared last week in The New York Observer and IFOAppleStore.com. Both publications said Apple was "evaluating" Grand Central but hadn't started the long and complex approval process, which is overseen by New York's bureaucratic MTA.

Rumors regarding the possible opening of a store in Grand Central Terminal appeared a few days ago when certain newspapers from New York launched some rumors that started the fact that Apple would be interested in purchasing some commercial spaces in that area. Around 700.000 people pass through Grand Central Terminal every day, most of them hurrying to catch trains or the subway. 250.000 of the visitors come for the restaurants or the shops within the terminal, so a shop in a place so visited would represent a very profitable investment.
