Tutorial: Troubleshoot Errors 1604, 1601, 1600 Using iREB

If you have ever tried to restore using a custom ipsw then it is very likely that you encountered one of the errors 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601 or 1600 when iTunes started the restore process. iH8sn0w made a small program that solves these problems for iDevices users, the program is called iREB, it was updated today and is compatible with all devices running iOS.

First of all, let's review the list of compatible devices. iREB only works with iTunes 10.1.2, so don't try to use the program with another version of iTunes.

  • iPhone 2G/3G/3Gs/4

Step 1

Download iREB ​​RC3 from here: [download id=”119″]

Step 2

Connect the terminal to the PC and enter it in DFU Mode:

  • hold down the Lock button for 3 seconds;
  • while holding down the Lock button, press the Home button and keep both pressed for another 10 seconds;
  • let go of the Lock button and keep pressing only Home until greenpois0n recognizes the terminal and starts the jailbreak process
  • Step 3

    Open the iREB ​​downloaded in step 1, select your device from the list and a white or red image should appear on your screen, a sign that the process has worked.

    Step 4

    Open iTunes, hold down shift while clicking on restore (Windows)/hold down the option key while clicking on restore (Mac), choose your custom ipsw and that's it, you should be able to restore without problems.
