What could Apple present at the conference on Wednesday

As you all already know, on Wednesday, March 2, Apple will hold a press conference at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco where it will present the iPad 2, iOS 4.3 and perhaps the new iOS 5.0 and a new MobileMe service. Until now, there have been many rumors about the iPad 2 tablet and its hardware specifications, but in the following I will list what I think could be presented on Wednesday at the Apple conference.

iPad 2 tablet with :

  • Apple A5 processor based on a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 chip with at least 512MB RAM;
  • the new PowerVR SGX543 graphics chip that will give game developers the opportunity to port on iOS graphics engines superior even to the one used in Infinity Blade;
  • 2 cameras: one front and one mounted in the back;
  • a new speaker that has been talked about for more than a month;
  • a possible SD slot or perhaps a Thunderbolt slot;
  • a new design, a much thinner iPad tablet with a flat back cover;
  • a white version of the tablet similar to the one shown here.

It has been rumored for several weeks that Apple could launch a new free MobileMe service that would offer users the opportunity to upload photos/films to their own account from where they could download/view them on any other iDevice or Mac. I already told you that Apple stopped selling MobileMe in physical stores, so there are chances that this free service will be launched on Wednesday.

There was a rumor indicating that iOS 5 could be presented at this conference, but I recommend you not to get your hopes up too high because we are only in February and it is much too early for Apple to present a new operating system. iOS 4.3 will more than likely be presented running on the iPad 2 because it will bring many new functions for the iPad tablet plus some dedicated applications. It is also possible to have it available in the GM version shortly after the event and it is very possible to have it available with the iPad 2 launch.

That's about all I think Apple could present, don't forget I'm waiting for you on Wednesday to discuss the new tablet and of course watch the LIVE broadcast from the event.
