iPad 2 – 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, iOS 4.3

In just one day, Apple will present to the whole world the iPad 2 tablet and others AllThingsDigital expresses his opinion regarding the hardware that will be implemented in the new tablet. Normally, speculations of this kind would be superfluous now, but last week AllThingsDigital announced the date of the iPad 2 tablet conference very shortly before the Apple company, so I think it would be useful to present to you what they think we will find in the iPad 2:

  • dual-core 1.2 Ghz ARM Cortex-A9 processor;
  • 512MB RAM exactly like iPhone 4;
  • graphics chip POWERVR SGX543 much more powerful than the current POWERVR SGX535;
  • the Quallcom chip that will allow users to use the iPad tablet on GSM and CDMA networks;
  • 2 cameras, one front and one in the back, which can be used for FaceTime calls;
  • modified design, the tablet would be much thinner than the current model;
  • a new type of screen that facilitates reading in strong light;
  • iOS 4.3 which will contain the PhotoBooth application along with several other new functions.

That's pretty much what everyone expects and with these specifications iPad 2 will be the best option for any person looking for a tablet. Be that as it may, there is very little left until the conference itself and we will find out some of the specifications then, because Apple is not in the habit of providing details regarding RAM, processor, etc.

The information is also supported by BGR which adds some details about the rooms:

  • one of 1.3 megapixels for FaceTime HD calls;
  • a 2 megapixel rear camera for photos;
  • prices starting from $399;
  • availability in 1-2 weeks.
