NOVA 3 – Gameloft's first game built with the Unreal 3 graphics engine?

It has been more than a month since Gameloft signed a partnership with Epic Games by which it received the right to implement the Unreal 3 graphics engine in a series of games released until the end of 2012. According to this agreement Gameloft will release 4 games new ones that will have graphics made on the basis of the Unreal 3 graphics engine and those from pocketgamer I maintain that NOVA 3 is one of those titles. Gameloft has not confirmed or denied this rumor, but NOVA is one of the most popular games in the company's portfolio, it is a first person shooter, so it would be quite logical to implement the graphics engine for this game.

Gameloft has confirmed what we already knew down here in the Rumor Mine – it's busy working on four games utilizing Epic Games's Unreal Engine 3. But the Paris-based publisher hasn't revealed what those games are.

Word has it that shooter sequel NOVA 3 is among the four titles built around the engine and will be out later this year.

Some games released by Gameloft this year were, unfortunately, quite weak from a graphical point of view, so one built on a highly praised graphics engine would generate good sales for the company. On the other hand, Gameloft could also win in terms of image if, for the WWDC 2011 conference in the summer, it could present to the public one of its games built especially for an iPhone 5 with a powerful graphic chip. Be that as it may, this year promises to be extremely interesting for gamers on iDevices.
