Apple could build data centers in Europe for a new video streaming service

In the image above we have the data center that Apple is building in North Carolina and which has been cataloged as being the largest data center currently owned by Apple. Last week there was a news announcing that Apple has already ordered data storage units capable of saving 12 million GB of data, but no one knows what exactly this order is for. Now some American analysts claim that Apple would build other similar data centers in the USA and Europe in order to launch a video streaming service similar to Netflix but also a television sold under the Apple brand.

Jefferies & Co. believes Apple Inc. is about to launch a new video-focused cloud-based service. The brokerage continues to believe that the assault on the living room likely means the introduction of another Apple appliance or device. Misek believes Apple will launch a new far reaching cloud-based service that is more than just a music or content locker and focused on video. Misek believes this service will allow Apple to maintain higher than expected average selling prices for longer than he and the Street think. It is also likely to lead more people to buy Apple devices, in Misek's view.

It's not the first time that such rumors appear indicating the launch of an Apple TV, but to be honest, I doubt that Apple would intend to do such a thing. For a company like Apple, an expensive TV would not bring anything good because very few people would buy it. A TV is not a Mac, a TV is not an iPhone, but it would be as expensive as a Mac and people would not see the point of spending several thousand dollars on something like that.
